Hi there!! Welcome to the blog!
My name is Camilla, also known as Milla, Milly, Millster, Chamillionaire, CamDog.. take your pick! I’m just your average jane who has been sucked into the social world of food blogging. And am I sad about it? Nope. I am not a professional by any means, but I love cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. I think most of my favorite memories are those that contain family and friends, all gathered in the kitchen for a big meal, spending quality time together.
Here’s a little bit about me:
I am a wife to the most perfect husband. (We’ve known each other since we were 11-year old teeny baby boppers! He’s my right hand man and best friend!)
I work full-time as a registered nurse at a hospital in my hometown.
I love being outside- camping, hiking, riding bikes, swimming, you name it!
My favorite treat is ice cream, and more specifically a big bowl of cookies & cream drizzled in chocolate.
I’ve started this blog because: 1) I have a passion for cooking and I love sharing my creations with others. For example- I’m lucky to live close to my parents, and every time I find a good recipe or make something new I share it with my husband first, and then I take some to my parents to taste test as well. Sharing is caring, they say! And 2) I needed a new outlet. For the past little while I had been coming home from work each day and telling my husband that I felt like something was missing in my life. Going to work, hitting the gym, and coming home to make dinner was pretty standard, and I felt trapped. I blame most of it on “the winter blues” because cold weather is in full swing here in Idaho, and not being able to spend time outside has its limitations. I even started complaining about my job saying, “I don’t even know if I want to work as a nurse anymore! Nothing seems right!” (Dramatic, I know.) My husband, being the sweet guy he is, asked me, “What would you do if you didn’t have to go to work? If you could do anything at all what would you choose?”
“I’d start a food blog,” I said. As surprising as that answer was for both of us, it was an honest one.
Long story short, he convinced me to start posting my recipes, and here we are! LOL and NO, I did not quit my job. My dramatic self wasn’t in need of THAT much change. I am just looking forward to spending time on a new hobby. It’s definitely a work in progress, but one that I am looking forward to. Thanks for stopping by!
